Following the release of the Creation tape, I felt I had a much better grasp of how to apply these concepts I had been working with. Using alchemy as an analogy for beat-making, I had broken down the process of creation to its bare bones. With this foundational understanding, I could do more, and I could reach farther. And in my first reach, I found the moon.
My previous tapes were all 6 instrumental tracks that flowed into each other as one cohesive piece. I wanted to make something that was longer, had single tracks, and most importantly, something to showcase some of the incredible artists know. And thus, MOONROCKS was born: a collection of rocks found on the surface of another world. The result of a journey of songs and instrumentals created with the tools of our world. |
